The New Kensington Garden Center, located on the corner of Frankford Avenue and Berks Street in Philadelphia generously supported the Sustainable Disobedience Park through sharing plants from their collection. The result was a great looking green spot on Broad Street, one of the busiest arteries in the city. Our site was the only park located in North Philadelphia as part of the city’s Park(ing) Day event. We received many requests from passers by and park visitors about how to buy plants we showcased. the New Kensington Garden Center sells these plants at reasonable costs at their storefront location. The Garden Center is open Wednesday through Friday from 1 -6 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am- 3 pm. For more information about the Garden Center, call at 215-739-6910.
